Electrical Application Engineer

Location(s): Plymouth MI

Major Job Duties Include:
Electrical Application Engineer for electric power steering (EPS) applications in the NAFTA market. Serve as local engineering contact for Bosch/ZFLS Joint Venture and Bosch EPS central design organization in Germany. Provide local customer technical support for GM, Ford and Chrysler through ZFLS. Provide support for mechanical and electrical component manufacturing localization including BOM release, mechanical construction, and packaging. Analyze customer specifications to ensure requirements are met. Create DV/PV test plans per local customer requirements and support/monitor validation testing.

Minimum:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree and experience.
* 5+ years of experience in a customer interfacing electrical engineering role.
* Strong Communication Skills
* Strong problem solving skills
* Experience in defining/supporting DV/PV testing, including Electrical, EMC, and environmental testing for automotive components

* Self initiator that takes action and supports the team to drive the project to completion

Desired:
* Familiarity with Brushless DC motor applications
* Previous electrical experience with electric power steering modules
* Electromechanical or Mechatronic background
* Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Experience with Power electronics and thermal management of power semiconductors.
* Familiarity with production and design of BLDC motor controls including standard PCB, Direct Bonded Copper, and Low temperature Co-fired Ceramic applications
* Program management experience
* German language skills a plus
